  Norcrest Little League will strive to promote youth baseball opportunities in all its member communities across Southern Alberta.  As well, Nocrest will endeavor to provide an inclusive environment, with an emphasis on fun and growing the sport of baseball.



About Us

​​​​​​​Norcrest Little League has a long history in Southern Alberta. So many kids have had the chance to play on teams within the league during the spring season as well as for the tournament season in the summer. While the boundaries have changed over the years, the spirit of the teams has continued!  Players, coaches, parents, umpires and volunteers have all joined in to field some excellent teams and provide the communities within Norcrest with many innings of baseball and softball.


Norcrest is made up of 8 different communities around the south.  Bow Island, Coaldale, Enchant, Foremost, Milk River, Picture Butte, Taber and Vauxhall. 

During the spring house league regular season, teams from the different communities are able to compete against each other, culminating with a division championship at the end of the season, usually the middle of June.  As we head into summer, players are able to try out for a tournament summer team; this is a short and competitive season that allows those players who love to play and travel around Alberta the opportunity to play for provincial championships, national championships and, if successful, could even head to the Little League World Series.

We are part of District 1 in Little League Alberta. District 1 also includes Lethbridge Little League Baseball Association, Southchief Little League and Chinook West Little League.


The focus has primarily been on Little League Baseball for the seasons in the past.  Hopefully, Norcrest Little League can work with the communities more to develop the Softball program and see the girl's teams have fun and show their skills in tournaments.  There are many opportunities to grow the baseball and softball program within Norcrest in our towns and rural areas, and we hope we can count on the support of the players, parents, coaches, umpires, volunteers and the fans in the stands to continue to help us grow and support the kids who love the game.

what we offeR

Norcrest Spring Season

WHAT IS THE SEASON
  • We need to have the teams created by April 1.  The schedule will be completed the first week of April
  • The season starts with games the last week of April.  
  • The spring competition consists of 1-2 games per week and one to two practices scheduled by the managers or coaches.
  • Games and practices are usually scheduled Monday–Thursday.  
  • Occasionally, there are Saturday double-headers.
  • The season ends with a tournament, usually in mid-June.  Norcrest attempts to spread the location of the final tournaments throughout the Norcrest area.
  • Spring games generally start at 6:00 pm and no new innings will start after 8:00 pm.
  • Weekend Games could begin anytime between 9:30am - 6:00pm.

Norcrest SUMMER Season

MINOR & MAJOR A ALL STARS
Will participate in weekend tournaments and attend the Little League Alberta Divisional Championship tournament. There is also an opportunity for the All-Star team to make it to the Little League Canadian Championship

SUMMER BASEBALL - A & AA TEAMS
Norcrest offers the opportunity to form Summer Ball teams that will compete in Alberta Little League weekend tournaments in June and July. All BRLL Summer Ball teams have the opportunity to attend a Little League Alberta Championships normally held during the August long weekend to end the Summer Baseball season.

Summer Ball players are expected to commit to 2 days a week including practices and weekend tournaments from Friday to Sunday, starting the second last weekend in June. Some travel is expected for out of town tournaments.

Age Groups Available:
Minors - Any players Little League Age 8 - 10 years
Majors - Any players Little League Age 11 - 12 years

NORECREST FALL SEASON

For the past 2 years, Norcrest has organized a Fall baseball program. The first year, we had one majors team, however, this past year, we were able to have both a majors team and a minor team. 

-One practice a week, usually on a Friday.
-Double-headers on Saturday.
-Great place to get some extra coaching and game experience for new players

Since we are playing against only Lethbridge teams, our teams will be based out of Coaldale and Picture Butte.  Our participation in the Lethbridge league stipulates that their teams do not want to travel farther than Picture Butte or Coaldale.
